Hmm.....

Ok so I've listened to the Paul McKenna CD a few times now and I can't say it's particularly made me feel any different, lots of people claim to feel almost like they've actually had the physical surgery :-\....... Part of the course though is sticking to the 4 golden rules and this is harder than I thought and in which case I need to try a lot harder :-(

On a good note though I think I am ever so slightly more aware of what I am eating and how much plus feeling more satisfied for longer so that could be a start.

I have weighed myself this week and I am down to 161.8lbs, a step in the right direction. Now to try and turn it up a notch, must lose a stone by the end of June a least..........

Better late than never......

Oopsy well it seems I got a bit distracted over the weekend so totally forgot about listening to the Hypnotic Gastric Band :-\...... But no fear I have caught up with myself and done it tonight!
I must admit I cannot remember a word that was said but Paul McKenna says that's fine..... My only issue is that I know that I actually fell asleep so I'm not sure if it still counts. Anyway I guess we will find out tmw if I feel any different but I will also be sure to listen to the CD again but not right at bed time :-\

A few stats so we can track my weight as we go along:

Weight as of 12/03/13: 162.6lbs
Size 14-16 clothing

Goal weight: 135lbs
Size 12 clothing

Fingers crossed and here we go........

Step 1......The Book

So tonight I sat down with my new book 'Hypnotic Gastric Band' by Paul McKenna.......must admit I would prefer to have been snuggled up with a good crime fiction book but hey if I'm gonna lose weight this is one thing I just have to sit through.

To be honest for 90min read it wasn't too bad. The book starts with explaining about how the programme was put together and about the trials and then goes on to explain about how a physical gastric band would be fitted. The latter is apparently an important part as your brain will need to recognise the preparation the body needs to go through before, during and after the band is fitted. The rest of the book is then all about training your body to kick the bad habits but also about the Four Golden Rules you must adhere to to help make this all work:
Golden Rule 1: When You are Hungry, EAT!..........Ok I can do that :)

Golden Rule 2: Eat What You Want, And Not What You Think You Should.......I can defo do that :-D

Golden Rule 3: Whenever You Eat Do It Consciously...........in a nut shell eat slowly savouring every mouthful, at a table, with no distractions.......like TV.....a little more complicated as I enjoy a good episode or 2 of House while scoffing!.....but I'll try :-/

Golden Rule 4: When You Think You Are Full, STOP Eating!........Well this makes sense :)

Unfortunately though you can't really just jump into the hypnosis bit as you have to 'prepare your body for surgery'........so basically start walking at least 20 mins a day and cutting out high fat/sugar foods for at least a few days to shrink your liver.....or something. I'm hoping to start the actual hypnosis part on Saturday, but in the mean time I can move on to the next step, the DVD!! This is a quick video on a technique called Havening which I'll need to learn by heart to help boost my serotonin levels (the chemical that makes you feel happy).......anywho I will be watching this DVD tmw so I will report back on that.

6 months and counting......

I'm getting married..... In 6 months...... And I am far from being ready to wow my family and H2B in my beautiful dress! I officially cannot stand to look at myself in a mirror and I need to do everything in my power to change this.
So while on a shopping trip today I spied the new weight loss book by Paul McKenna, 'Hypnotic Gastric Band', on sale so I decided, why the the hell not. I have about 3 stone I need to shift which in reality should be easy but I'm more in need of an attitude adjustment which is what I'm hoping this book will provide.

I will be documenting on this blog my weight loss progress as we get closer to my wedding day. I will most likely also share some sneaky pics and tips of my wedding arrangements too, just cuz I can :-)
I appreciate any tips tricks and motivational comments you guys might be able to provide and I hope to come out of this the other end a better person.
